Frequent Asked Questions About Artificial Grass

General Artificial Grass FAQs

We recommend measuring the width (side to side) in meters and the length of the area (front to back) and round this up to the closest meter. We would always recommend to add on a little more so that you have enough to use for cutting edges.

If installing artificial grass in the same area, we would strongly recommend only installing the same grass. Every grass is different in pile height, texture and they have slight colour variances.

If installed correctly, no. You need to have the base work installed properly to allow for drainage.  Each of our artificial grasses have weep holes.  These allow any fluid to free flow through these and drain away into the base work.

All of our artificial grasses a suitable for pets, although we do have pet specific ranges which means that you don’t need to worry about ay lingering smells or stains due to the quality and the backing.

Of course. Artificial grass is a simple way to add some colour and texture to your outdoor area.  In terms of a balcony, this can be weighed down with planters or furniture, or if this is going to be more permanent you can use our heavy duty bonding adhesive to attach this.   For decking, we would advise to place down some heavy duty weed suppressant and then the grass can be attached to the decking using nails or screws.

We would recommend removing debris from the grass every couple of weeks as these could lead to weeds or moss growing from these. You can buy an artificial grass rake online which is specifically for helping to bring the pile height back up.  You can also purchase disinfectants and cleaners online if you would like a through clean of your artificial grass.  Removing pet waste as soon as possible helps to keep your artificial grass looking great.

If you have not used a heavy weed membrane under your artificial grass then yes. Spores can sit on top of the artificial grass and if not cleaned away these can form into weeds.  A gentle weedkiller can be used on these and it will help kill these off, although you can pull these out easily.

We ask that you measure the width of the area (side to side) and round this up to the nearest metre. You will then measure the depth (Front to back) and again round this up to the nearest metre or half metre.  This will give you the size you will require for the grass.

We would advise to put down a proper base of clean aggregate before laying the grass. This helps to provide proper drainage underneath the grass.

If you place a heavy duty weed suppressant underneath the grass, this will stop any weeds coming through the artificial grass. Spores can sit on the top of the grass and grow.  A weedkiller can help to remove these.

It is best to match your grass with the same pile height and batch so that this looks unified. If you use different pieces of grass, this can look like a patchwork.

Artificial grass is tested by manufacturers and is safe for all to use.  In terms of pets, you do get pet specific grass ranges which help to avoid any urine smells lingering in the future.  Children love artificial grass as it means the get somewhere to play all year round, with the only worry of water and not mud.

Artificial Grass has weep holes on the backing which allows any water and fluid to flow through this and away.

You can use a specialist rake/brush that can help bring the pile height back up. You can get artificial grass cleaners if you wish.  We would advise to pic up any dog mess as soon as possible, removing this away from the pile using a trowel.  A leaf blower can help to remove any loose debris that is sitting on the grass – this prevents this from forming into weeds and moss.
